I am also desperate to loose weight.
Just looked at the injections and there is a risk of thyroid cancer. So any cancer risk is a big NO from me, I would rather be overweight.
I am incredibly down about my weight, weight loss is so hard yet sounds so easy. Lower calories and do more exercise, simple 🤷
But I binge eat and never, ever feel full.
For me, I need to get my head in the right place but I am not there yet.
No advice for you but you are definitely not alone 💕

Floridatilly, you are so right, its so easy to put it on, and so difficult to get it off again!

I think being cautious about pills is a good thing.

I agree but only because I'm older now. And still fat so all the past injections and pills have got me right back to where I started.

I wholeheartedly recommend that you look up TeamRH on Facebook. There are loads of free videos to watch. The bloke Richie swears a lot but if you can get past that, what he says makes perfect sense. And he is an honestly true gent with a big heart.

There is also a video on binge eating which explains why you do it - basically it’s because you’ve eaten low calories during the week cos you’re being ‘good’ but come weekend you’re starving and your body needs fuel so you binge. But it’s not because you don’t have will power or are greedy or a ‘loser’ like you think you are, it’s because your body needs the fuel/calories. I can’t explain it as good as him but it’s a real eye opener.

I honestly can’t recommend it enough. I have been on this plan since June 2019 and have lost 3 stones by eating 1900 calories per day and doing 10000 steps. I’m still on the plan and maintaining - never I have been on a diet for so long and kept the weight off. But it’s because Richie teaches you about nutrition so I understand how the body works. And it’s only £6 or 7 per month ( I’ve paid a year subscription so not sure of monthly payment). But a lot of the content is free to see on TeamRH Facebook anyway.

Good to hear TeamHR are helping you, i see his facebook posts, and have been so close to joining, i definitely will. Back at the gym today after a long 6 mobths, haven't the courage to step on the scale!

I feel frumpy and fat, so this needs to be the time to take control and stop making excuses why i cant lose weight. Good luck to all us menopausal sufferers, xx

I have made a phone appointment with my doctor for today to discuss the injections and gastric band and if there are options for me doing these via him before going privately. I hope he says yes, I trust my GP.

Spoke to my GP today and he says I would have to be referred, undergo counselling (again) and meet whatever other kind of criteria. So I’ll do that for a gastric band and will start the injections when I get them on Wednesday. I know I have to do something. I was almost in tears on the phone to my GP. Thankfully I have a good GP who understands.
