Post Office Digital Passport Service

Just a heads up...

Went into our local post office last Friday to take advantage of this service for the renewal of our 10 year old passports, pre esta.

Easy service, they take your electronic pic and all else is done on line. You get text and email updates..

The replacements arrived at 3pm today, just 6 days later by courier to my front door.

Yes, is decent - we used Timpsons in our local Sainsburys for the photos, which they were able to check and verify the pics on line with the passport agency (so he said anyway!).

Online process was really easy - and cheaper than going to the post office...only posted Monday, bet getting regular texts / emails on progress.

Just seem to remember you can pull a picture from your passport to ypuse for a drivers licence that was all

I just did it all on my phone. Took all of 5 mins. Easy peasy.

Hi D332, how much was the PO service? I ask ask the pp office now allow self taken photo uploading when completing online at a cost of £75.50, they charge £85 for postal applications.

Hi June, as you said, the DVLA use databased pp photo's (up to 5 years on file, thereafter a new photo is required) for online driving licence applications.

The passport IT system has come leaps and bounds in recent times. Who would have thought we would be being complimentary about it !

Hi Chris

I paid £90.90 per application and I paid another £5 (each) to get my old PP returned by RMail Special Del.

They want your email address, mob number and something with your address on which is just seen by the clerk at the PO (ie not copied and handed back to you at the time)

The actual PP came by DX delivery a secure carrier used by the Passport Office.

I’ll just need to get a photo taken then, hadn’t planned on needing one as per the driving licence process, will get it done asap
