oh my - I will be very disappointed if Mickey and Minnies houses go away
as it is all about the "Mouse" and to be able to see where they live and go around the houses and gardens is just so lovely ... It will be a shame
I do hope that the rebuild them ...

I tried to join the social group but I couldnt for some reason?

ive joined!
it said I hadnt but when I went back to retry - I was in!

does anyone know where I can see a map of the whole magic kingdom and see the new area, as I can see the new photos with all the new stuff but I cant figure out where it all is in relation to what is there already?
I take it that snow white, small world, peter pan, etc will all stay?
the artists impression looks really good!

I read that Mickey and Minnie are going to have new homes near the front of the park - I wonder where that will be as I cant see where they would have room to rebuild the houses?

From what i understand, the majority of the current Fantasyland will stay. They will be removing the Little Mermaid meeting area to make way for the new Ariel themed attraction, and they are also moving (but not removing) Dumbo. I expect the Hundred Acre Wood play area will also be removed.
The expansion is mostly stretching to places that arent currently used by guests but it will start from behind Cinderella Castle, stretch backwards, and curve round into ToonTown.

As for the re-location of the houses...where did you read that? Nothing was mentioned at the D23 Expo, other than the complete demolition of Toontown, and the fact they may try to save the Barnstormer.

Thanks for joining the group! I update it as often as possible, and any D23 specials will be in green

As was said when news of this was first leaked - it will be a very girly area - not much at all for the boys though sound like the Dumbo area is going to be a great spectacle. Our DS loves heading to Toontown and spends lots of time in Mickey's house, garden and garage. I know by the time the renovations are finished he will probably have outgrown it anyway but I do hope they retain a small area dedicated to the Mouse!

Delighted with the Star Tours news though - it definitely is feeling its age and will be looking foward to seeing its new incarnation.

WHile it does sound fantastic I will miss Mickey and Minnie's houses - other than those there is very little of Mickey in the Magic Kingdom.

Plus it all seems very much geared towards the girls - with a boy and girl the same age I'm always very aware of trying to find stuff that will appeal to each of them - I've always thought WDW, especially MK, is crying out for more boy or older children themed areas - a POTC or Toy Story character meal would be brilliant.
