Another year, Another Adventure! Sept/Oct 2016

Flying from Edinburgh to Orlando via Gatwick. This year we were doing the trip a bit differently, splitting our stay over three hotels.

Staying at All-Star Sports for the first 6 days, upto Universal at Sapphire Falls for 5 days and finishing up at Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando.

Have kept majority of the receipts, but sadly think I've lost quite a few of the food/drink ones.

Hope you enjoy reading this as much as we enjoyed eating/drinking it!

Travel Day

Another trip, another failed attempt at getting pictures of the breakfast on the flight from Edinburgh to Gatwick. Always a good breakfast to start the trip. Omelette, beans, bacon, potato roasties and sausage.

We'd booked ourselves into No.1 Lounge at Gatwick as we had 3 hours to wait around on next flight. Paid £48.46 for the two of us, was quite busy when we first arrived but quietened quickly during our time.

Took full advantage of our time in here, full bar service in the lounge. Also have a section with fruit juices/tea/coffee/pastries/cereal and other chilled foods to help yourself to. We ordered a few items from the menu which come freshly made to order. Bacon roll and beans on toast, both were good to fill a hole after our flight breakfast.

Choices for inflight meal on the next flight were Sausage & Mash or Chicken curry. We both decided to go for the Sausage & Mash, simple but hits the spot. Also got afternoon tea about an hour or so before landing, didn't manage to get a picture of it but was Chicken Caesar finger sandwiches and a kit-kat.

Were feeling a bit too tired to make a trip to Disney Springs/Park like we originally planned, so just nipped to food court in the All-Star Sports resort. Pictures don't do justice to just how good these tasted! Both got chilli cheese fries and purchased our refillable mugs for the stay.

Mugs - $35.98
Chilli Cheese Fries - $9.98
Total - $49.18

Day One

First day we got a bright start, and started with another trip to the food court. First time staying in a Disney hotel means one thing only, Mickey waffles for breakfast! Sadly can't find any the receipts from this day so prices are just off the top of my head.

Breakfast we both went for Mickey Waffles which came with three sausages/rashers of bacon and a couple of tubs of syrup each. Remember it being about $18.

Grabbed a couple of different snacks as we wandered around MK, first up we got a Cinnamon Roll at Gastons Tavern. Had read saying it was big but don't think either of us expected it to be this size, can't recommended these enough! Brilliant snack for under $5 if memory serves.

Next up we got a dole whip to share before we headed over to Epcot about lunch time.

After a wander around Epcot we decided to go to the Boardwalk for a bit of a later lunch/dinner as we fancied something new. Ended up going into ESPN club, sadly another one without receipt.

We decided on a mix of appetizers, first pulled pork nachos to share that were brilliant! Then I went for Buffalo wings, and OH went for the Sausage slider duo. Also had a Bud Light & Bud Light Lime. Total was around $50.

Had a walk around some of the shops at the boardwalk, got a couple of drinks from a Margarita stand and walked back to Epcot before doing some rides and heading back to the resort.

Day Two

Today we had another bright start, the aim for today which we'd both been looking forward to attempting was Drinking/Eating around the world. Went to the food court again, today we went for the Bounty Platter which is pretty much mix of all the items. Mickey Waffle, Sausages, Bacon, Scrambled egg, Potatoes and a Biscuit.

2 x Bounty Platter
Total - $19.81

Now onto the fun part of the day, not as many pictures of food but got more of the drinks. Sadly weren't able to drink in every country as Mexico require passport/picture of your passport to verify non-us driving licences. Obviously that was a disappointing start

Norway
Pint of Carlsberg and a Rose wine.

China
Bottle of Tsingtao and a Kung Fu Punch - $12.25

Germany
Pint of Oktoberfest - $8.75, Caramel Brownie/Pumpkin Spice Caramel Slice - $9.57

Italy
2 x Italian Margarita - $20

USA
Bud Light, Red Stag Lemonade - $17, Chicken Nugget Combo - $10.11

Japan
Pint of Sapporo, Tokyo Sunset - $17.58

Morroco
Oasis Slushees - $21.98

France
Lemon/Orange Slush - $21.50

The U.K
Pint of Cider n Black, Souvenir Welsh Dragon, 2 Shots - $39.14

Jack n Coke, Pint of Bumblebee and portion of chips - $23.97

Farm Fresh Stand
Bacon Mac n Cheese - $4.50, Cocktail & Dole whip with rum.

We enjoyed almost every drink we tried on our trip around the world, only ones which we weren't as keen on would be the Oasis Slush from Morocco. Spent more time in each country as we done this as we tried to stay in the country until the drink/eat was finished.

Day 3

Was a bit more of a leisurely day today, breakfast in the food court with some shopping at Disney Springs with a trip to T-rex.

Breakfast today was a cheese omelette which came with potatoes, and a scrambled eggs with sausage. No receipt for this one but remember it being under $20.

We'd made a reservation at T-Rex for a late lunch, was first time eating here and enjoyed the atmosphere within. Bit more expensive but it's one of these type of restaurants when it's almost like paying for the surroundings as well as the food.

No receipt for this one either, reckon it was about $80 including tip. We shared a mozzarella dippers starter that came with like a portion of almost grilled cheese. Guacasaurus burger each which we both really enjoyed. Also got a couple of cocktails in souvenir glasses then a soft drink.

The rain was hammering down when we were about to leave, so waited it out in the gift shop then once it cleared took a walk around all the new parts of Disney Springs. Just before we left, decided to treat ourselves with a trip to sprinkles.

We got a cupcake each, one banana and a salted caramel. Also got two frosting shots, which are like little sauce cups from mcdonalds but filled with cake frosting. One vanilla with sprinkles and a strawberry one. As good as the shots were, they are very sickly!

Day 4

Went to drinks cart outside Toy Story Mania ride in HS, the vender had just went on a break and left someone else in charge but didn't leave him code for till so could only pay with card. We'd lucked out as he hadn't realised until after I ordered and tried to pay with cash, so he asked if we could wait for the other woman to pay. After waiting about 10 minutes sitting having our drinks, she returned but when I went to pay we ended up getting another two for free to apologise for us waiting.

We'd been back at the hotel about lunch time so had grabbed a bite then at the food court, got chicken nuggets meal and a chilli cheese dog meal too. Picture doesn't really show the nuggets hidden under the chips well though.

Total - $22.45

Tonight we'd planned to go back to the parks with some fastpasses made, wasn't to go to plan as the heavens opened and they weren't for stopping. So ended up getting back in front of the tv, ordered up some pizza and buffalo wings. Order came with a Caesar salad but their was more than enough eating without even getting to the salad.

Day 5

Today was another different experience for us on this trip, we went to a soccer game to see Orlando City. For anyone who hasn't been to one, the whole culture is different. A street full with foodtrucks, various stands and all.

Took me a while picking between all the trucks until I found the sign at the front of this stand, and what can I say other than totally see how it's getting that title!

Went for the chicken teriyaki box meal, everything in the box was done perfect. Even the things in the bottom left which I had no idea what they were!

Day 6

This was the first day after we'd made the move up to Sapphire falls, so todays food was from NBC grill at citywalk. As it was mid afternoon we just decided to go for a mix of shareable food again, another great decision as it allowed us to try different options off the menu.

We ordered the Beef brisket poutines, Hot buffalo wings and a chicken/bacon flatbread.

After the food we nipped around the corner to Menzies, which was the first time we'd been there and will definitely be going again. For anyone who hasn't been would recommend it, you pay per weight and can put as much as you'd like in of all different types/toppings. Picture just doesn't make it look anywhere near as good as it was.
