My wife wasn't told this when she booked it, but the hairdresser said they are hoping this will change in late August apparently?

If you are serious then that's odd because the senior stylist told my wife they are not allowed to blow dry hair, but as above she said that might change in late August?

I am. There were 3 stylists working the day I got mine done (all distanced) and they were all blow drying
