Drive-in cinema

Has anyone been to a drive-in cinema?

We’ve got some free tickets from Sky VIP to see a film at Warwick Castle on Saturday and wondered what to expect or if there’s any tips.

The plan is to have a few hours in Stratford-upon-Avon and then drive across for the film. The weather forecast is good so hopefully it’ll be a nice day out and something different.

We’re at the drive-in as we speak! The Lost Boys at the Norfolk Showground. I recommend going as late as possible as the films definitely look better in the dark compared to twilight. Pack a blanket too!

I hope you had a good time

Possibly a silly question but do you stay in your car? I presume you do but you mention taking a blanket.

Our film is mid-afternoon so we’ll take sunglasses I hadn’t considered that when I applied for the tickets, I thought more about the drive home as it’s an hour away!

Were you able to see and hear the film?

We stayed in the car- the blanket was for when it got chilly!
Honestly, I wouldn’t go again. We had no problems hearing the film through our car radio but the bloomin’ rear view mirror obstructed the view! I had backache by the end because I just couldn’t get comfy 🤦 You’ll be fine if you have a convertible...
