Boma or The Wave... for breakfast?
Any preferences over which one of these that I should try to go to? or recommendations that I try to make our plans work to be able to go to both.
I've had the Wave on my list for a while after someone on here recommended it to me 2 or so years ago, and it's came up pretty high on the list of a video I watched recently for the DIS unplugged. Boma was a recent addition to my list this year as it has also got a lot of good feedback, and it made my original ADR list before they all got cancelled. |

I would caveat, that I think neither will be offering their usual any time soon. But I went to and reviewed both for breakfast last year see links below
We went a la carte at the Wave and that was decidedly average. We would probably have fared better with the buffet which did look very good though and good value. Boma was excellent, I think it will be a must for us on all future trips and there are not many I say that about. I would like to try their dinner there, once things are back to normal. Thank you so much for both of these! Having two reviews, with photos, was exactly what I needed
I had wondered about the choice between buffet and a la carte for the Wave if we were to choose there. I sometimes like to just pick a meal instead of a buffet, but it seems like there's a lot of choice on there to try a bit of each. |

Assuming both are operating normally, I'd go with Boma (more choice). However when I also went to the Wave they had a (small but quality) buffet breakfast too.

The Buffet at The Wave was good, Boma better but also more expensive but all that being said Disney have just announced a raft of food items that are being removed, so I'd check out what's left before deciding.
I'd also point out that what you will pay for 1 at either, you will get a breakfast for 2 offsite SD

Thank you I’ll definitely be checking the menus closer to ADR time. I’m a vegetarian so I always like to check my options anyway!
We’re staying onsite, with no car this time so no off site food this trip! (Apart from maybe one visit to Olive Garden as it’s my favourite). We normally do go to ihop and Denny’s a lot, but we don’t want to start paying for lots of ubers, and we like not having to think too much about transport |

We have tried both and slightly preferred the Wave. However you should also consider transport as I see you don’t have a car - the Wave is super easy as it’s at the contemporary so walking distance from magic kingdom. But unless you’re staying at AKL you will need to get either an Uber or 2 legs of Disney transportation to get there in the morning. That’s enough to put us off going back to Boma regularly.

Another vote for The Wave here. It was one of our favourite meals of our last trip...Boma hmm...not so much! Although that might have been slightly blighted by our server saying she might get 'spanked' for making a mess (she said it twice, so it wasn't an accident!)

I'd go Boma any day! Maybe I'm still salty about The Wave's 'bottomless' mimosas which is not bottomless and is in fact just two mimosas. I just think Boma has a better variety of food and I love AKL. The Wave is probably easier for location though.
