Where is everyone going today in Wales?
We’re thinking of going to Tenby for a run in the car but need to check that “toilets” are open!
Where are everyone else venturing to ? 🏴 |

We’re going to the cemetery to put some flowers on our grandsons grave which is 9 miles away and then another couple of miles to the Range

We went to McArthur Glen for a look round. It was OK but they had removed all the benches. You could get food to take out in a couple of places but nowhere to sit.

So I had a week off work this week.
Monday we went to Porthcawl we had a takeaway coffee and sat on the steps to the beach, enjoyed the fresh air and watched the kite flyers- stayed a few hours but couldn't find any toilets that were open so had to leave. Tuesday - rainy day so caught up with housework and jigsaw wed- Finally got to see my Mom in Dudley, best day yet. strange to drive past all the pubs saying welcome back and competing for business . Today - went into Swansea to have new battery in both watches. Helped the economy by spending in Animal, Primark and local butchers in the market. Quadrant was very quiet, one way system and lots of hand sanitiser.oh and free parking in debs car park. No queue for Primark and again all social distance rules adhered too. DH didn't notice the very small arrows in Animal so got told off but only in a jokey way as we were the only ones in the store. so we have come out of our cocoon a little bit , still feels strange and we really missed having a cuppa and a slice of cake in Porthcawl and in town but its a step in the right direction |

Was that Bridgend? Used to live down near Bridgend and loved it at McArthur Glen! Often popped for a mooch after Sainsburys!
We used to live near Bridgend and often went to Porthcawl, it was lovely there! Particularly loved the beach there, sandy AND rocky. Oh, and the fish and chips!

We visited our son and his fiancée in Swansea, had a lovely day with them as we haven’t seen them since February.
They’ve been busy gardening so had a tour of their garden and their little plastic greenhouse they bought. We then went for a walk around their local neighbourhood, which isn’t too close to city centre or the beaches, so we could walk around without many other people close by. Then we ordered a KFC takeaway which we all enjoyed before we returned home. Of course we kept to the SD rules etc so couldn’t have a hug but it was just so good to spend some time together |

I’ve taken my mom (86) and aunt (77) ( we all live together) to our local Garden Centre, this might not seem much, but to me it’s been huge, at the start of this I really began to think my mom might not leave the house again, she was terrified, so today’s been a good day and next week we might go to a local shop that sells a bit of everything, think Dunhelm but smaller and locally owned xx

Tomorrow DD and I are going to venture to a nearby retail park - Next, M&S, Boots, New Look, etc.
It’ll be the first time I’ve been shopping other than for groceries since lockdown. I must admit to being a bit apprehensive but I do think we have to try and get back to some sort of normal. We’ve both agreed though that if we feel at all uncomfortable in any shop, we’ll come straight out. Just a shame we can’t stop for coffee and cake - that’s sometimes the best part of a shopping trip.
