Not the best year so far

Sorry but I’m struggling a bit with everything.
I returned to work in January following surgery before Christmas. My employer then started redundancy consultations, fortunately I wasn’t selected.
Days later I was hit on the way home by an HGV who spun me off the road.
This then made me rethink about driving distances and I found the perfect job, literally 5 minutes from home.
New job started, week later I was made redundant due to Covid 19.
Since then I have applied for nearly 200 jobs and had just 3 interviews.

I’ve been struggling mentally and knock back after knock back has had a detrimental effect on everything.
Physically I’ve been run down and in a lot of pain all over, just getting up out of bed is painful. I’ve bitten the bullet and spoke to our lovely nurse practitioner who is arranging blood tests next week but her first thought was rheumatoid arthritis 😢
Obviously blood tests will give a better idea but it’s knocked me for six.

I just needed to get it off my chest.

I am so sorry, it sounds as though you are having a horrible time with so many things happening at once!

Ha I g read what you have been through this year, I’m not surprised that you are not feeling on top form. You sound like you’ve been incredibly proactive- my fingers are crossed that something will happen for you soon x

You are doing pretty much all you can - it's obviously a desperately tough job market at the market.
Try not to get too downhearted , I am sure with your determination you will get something soon.
Have you put your name on with recruitment agencies ? Even a bit of temp work in an unrelated field to what you are used to will get you a bit of confidence.
And of course, well done on taking the first steps towards your mobility issues. Hope they get to the bottom of it all soon

Sorry to hear this. I understand RA can be caused by stress and I’m glad the Nurse has taken you seriously and is arranging bloods ... hopefully an appointment with the Rheumatologist will follow. I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis in March but due to Covid haven’t been able to start treatment yet and each week I can see more swelling and distortion in a couple of joints .. I hope you get a diagnosis soon and start to feel better soon too. Please let us know how you get on.

Blood test yesterday morning and surgery has just rung to discuss results.
RA is a no result which is fantastic news however my inflammatory markers although still in the permitting levels are at the high end 😞
The worse news is my liver, before I had gallbladder out in December my scan showed liver damage but they hoped that would recover once I’d had my op.
I don’t drink much alcohol, maybe once a month I’ll have a couple of bottles of Kopparburg or similar.
I’m having a repeat test in 2-3 weeks time and will be on a low fat zero alcohol diet.
