Anyone else's hair gone REALLY dry and frizzy...

as they headed towards peri-menopause?

My hair has always been a pain, it used to go frizzy after a while but it was always lovely and soft, just the roots getting a bit oily.

Now at 46 I can see my hair getting worse and worse by the week.
Its been long for ages so probably needs chopping off but I'm now scared I'll end up with a short version of my bog brush hair

I condition it, deep condition it, use olive oil, coconut oil, hemp oil, get trims so not sure there's any more i can do-its an age thing

Have you tried a sulphate free shampoo? I use OGX. I also find washing every 2 or 3 days better. By the time my 5 weeks come round for my next dye it's quite dry and lifeless. Always looks better, glossy after a colour at the hairdresser.

Not tried sulphate free but I don't wash everyday, maybe every 3rd day?

I’ve tried elasticizer but it didn’t suit my hair type. It just wasn’t for me. My hair is fry, coarse and frizzy. In the humidity, it just goes frizzier and curlier and that’s what eladticizer did. I guess it makes your hair absorb more moisture.

I use Kerastase oleo relax, initialiste and oil on mine.

Am going to try olaplex next.

I use olaplex, don’t like the shampoo though. Makes my hair greasy
The pink Kérastase is the best shampoo for moisture without making it greasy

You need to buy a really good shampoo...
not a high street one.
Redken, Kerastase, Olaplex. Also buy some decent product Wow do a good one for pre blow dry or the Kerastase oil expensive but only need a tiny amount my bottle is still half full and I’ve had it a year. I buy mine from Look Fantastic or All beauty.

Has anyone tried one of these supplements that claim to improve hair, skin, nails etc ?

Were the results worth the cost ?

I changed to sufate / silicone free shampoo and conditioner in Feb this year and haven't looked back. MY hair has never felt so healthy! In-fact my colleague complimented me on my hair and nearly fell off her chair when I said I hadn't had it cut since Jan

I buy shampoo / conditioner bars online, they last ages too
