Switzerland Summer 2020 - Day 13 - Sayoleyres

We woke to sunshine this morning. None of us are that quick see getting ready - weary legs! After breakfast (mainly yoghurt or toast), we gathered our things together for another hike.

We decided to take another gondola to the mountain and then do a hike across to the other one and catch that one down. It took us a while to find the gondola - the price was included in our VIP pass though the parking wasn't. I put in about 7CHF which have us about 5 hours parking.

The gondola has seen better days. It was fairly slow. I imagine in winter with the skiers there are plenty of queues to get up.

We arrived at the top. The views were, as usual, stunning.

We headed off down the path. There were a lot of people around - including in e-mountain bikes as there was a 4 day festival where you could rent them. Unfortunately as F is only 15 she couldn't do we scrapped the idea of using them.

Verbier from above.

The mountains that could be seen!

From everywhere you looked the scenery was just amazing.

The hike wasn't that arduous as it was along a wide path and was fairly flat.

There were a few streams for June to cool off in.

Overall the hike took us about 3 hours and was about 7km in length. It was as lovely as they have all been.

We had to walk uphill to get back to the car which wasn't very appreciated.

Back at the chalet the kids fell out over making lunch and F went to sulk in her room!

At about 4.30pm J and I decided to take June to Verbier for a wander.

We hadn't really thought this through as by taking June one of us had to stay outside the shops.

Probably just as well as nothing was cheap!

We got back home at about 6.30pm and I made gnocchi yet again! After this we played our usual games. The kids have really improved on Boggle over the last 2 weeks.

We were all in bed by 10pm - ask this fresh air and walking is tiring!

Another gorgeous day, the weather has been mainly good for seeing the spectacular views from the mountain tops for you. Such a shame F wasn’t old enough for the e-mountain bikes, they would have been fun

Well done to get to day 13 without siblings falling out, our two eldest boys rarely made it through day 1 when they were younger 😂 Loving June photos again xx

Wonderful scenery again - such amazing views. And is it even a family holiday if there hasn’t been a big row at some point?.

I’m as drawn to the blue skies in your photos as the scenery on the ground - just magnificent!
