My husband always calls that chud. No idea why.

I saw alley / plimsoll / bread bun / dressing gown / splinter or a spelk

But while I’ve lived in the north east for a long time I lived all ober growing up so I’m definitely not typical.

sandshoes
roll (if it's soft) or crispy roll if it's a morning roll.

It's a roll and sausage/bacon/tattie scone (none of your hash brown nonsense)

I’ve always found the roll debate interesting.
If I were to nip into M&S in Wigan (I’m sure I saw Wigan in the thread) for a cheese roll (I would also call it a bap if it was flat) what would the label say? A cheese barmcake?

Also, the swede/turnip thing. Do supermarkets honestly have regional labels?

We always think of a gully as normally something water runs along.
