Lovely that the boys have inherited your love of golf and I bet Alison appreciated some time to herself too!

I don't enjoy it when they beat me Alison does come and join us at times as Joe's caddie and chief photographer. Today she knew that so much water would lead to mozzie bites as they seem to really like her

Well done Josh "putt for dough!"

You can't beat that value for three golfing and clubs can you! Fair play!

I found it interesting to read your thoughts on Clearwater and I can totally see where you are coming from. As you know we made our first visit here in October and enjoyed our day visit but had nothing to compare it to. I just assumed it was always 'like that'.

I always love reading the first few days of your trip reports because I know how much you love this initial mini break to allow you some head space and quality time to unwind but I always then know that the excitement of what is to come is imminent and always the time when the real holiday starts

I do have to admit the thoughts of Clearwater have come after a couple of years of AMI and now Treasure Island, if I was to go anywhere for a day I guess Clearwater is amid the hustle and bustle of a busy city , rather than the small town of TI and the village feel to AMI.
It won't stop us going back though as for just one day. Away from Orlando, Clearwater offers so much in a very short space of time - there are some good overnight hotel rates too - not that I've been looking or anything like that

As for the whole Clearwater 'thing' it is progress ( that is Prog- ress - see COP) there is obviously a demand for the hotel rooms and especially at the top end of the market. It is driven by the American market and is obviously needed.
Strange to see existing hotels being built in front of though, especially when it drowns out the previous sunset view rooms
They are going down a build it high route , when most other tourist places on the gulf coast are happy with their lot and sticking to the tried and tested.
Only time will tell.

Sounds like the golf was enjoyable!

Shame about the over development at Clearwater though!

Looking forward to the next adventure!

It was a brilliant day - I have to admit the over development of Clearwater must be in their local plan and it is only people like me who see the huge high rise expansions and a bad thing - they have obviously planned for it as they seem to be high end hotel companies who are building in previous car parking areas , with little regard to the local and long standing motels/ hotels that have served the area for so long.
Would not put me off going back to Clearwater but it is a different place now than it was in 2013. and not in a good way
