Our flight has changed Man to SFO at the end of July, only knew by checking my booking ( looking to upgrade). It shows return as a 330-300 but all PE and UC are greyed out !

Hi Casey, same scenario for our re-routed MCO to Man, 747, in May, no ability to select our PE seating. Perhaps it's relative to VA still being unsure what aircraft they'll actually be using until much nearer the date. As the A330-200 aircraft are due to be operated out/into Man our hope is it doesn't become an A330-200!

Friends of ours are returning in may also and had managed to secure bubble seats on booking. Last night they were told that the 747's had been taken out of service from MCO and they would be on an indirect flight via Atlanta with Delta. They have been offered £30 as a token gesture which I think is less than they paid for the seat allocation! No reduction in price offered to compensate for indirect against direct and leave earlier!

Awe this is not good! I wonder if this is the end of the 747 going into Mco then? We have just booked PE late August dh will be gutted.
Are you not able to get a full refund if they change the plane and there is no PE on that flight?

Hi K&N... hence I'm closely watching our return in May, what's your friends return date? Their aircraft will likely have been re-scheduled to the A330-200. My booking is still showing as the 747 but if VA are coming off the MCO route they may not have altered the system yet, VA are likely having a right slaver on with their aircraft.

We flew out on the A330-300 Man to Atl to RSW (first by choice in-direct in 6 years, wry ). My bones cannot cope in economy, so I'll have to continue monitoring and if our 747 is replaced with the A330-200 I'll have to politely request yet another PE alternative, which is very limited and may not be into Man of course.

Whilst VA/other airlines are a tad in the mire with Rolls Royce having to refurbish so many 787 engines I intend to research flying from Dublin for this winter.

Lynda, keep an eye on your booking. When I first heard, early Dec, of the changes I checked our booking, still showed as PE. I made the mistake of reading the A330-200 as the A330-300, but after more Dibb comments I read more thoroughly and saw the change. The A330-200 series, I believe, are former Air Berlin aircraft and were given the accolade of one of the worst seats on European long haul.

Hi Bondy - apparently, according to other Dibbers, some/all August LGW to MCO have been re-scheduled to the A330-300, if that's your flight then that's a canny aircraft and does have a PE cabin.
