We have insulated our garage door, and loft space to keep the heat out our movie / games room. To help cool we also have an independent air conditioner in there to keep the space usable throughout the year.

When my father owned a Villa in Florida, he actually hired someone to put sheet insulation on the garage door and then bought a mobile air-con unit that was on wheels, certainly did the job in our games room.

We have stayed in villas with games rooms and in the summer they are hot. We don't book the villa for the games room, just nice to have on a wet day or in the winter. Kids often left the garage/house door open to let the heat out and cold in but not ideal.

I have put ceiling fans in both my games rooms, makes it a lot cooler.
Still not perfect in the July heat though.
More an evening activity.

we have a north facing garage/gamesroom
It is still very hot in summer so we have a large ceiling fan + a stand alone AC unit which is plugged in and on a timer so guests can choose how long to use
we find that an essential... some other villas owners will offer this
just ask when you are browsing...

Not essential but useful if you have young ones who get up early, they can use it then while it's cooler and when you maybe don't want them out in the pool making lots of noise, or for when you want to keep them busy while you make breakfast or get ready to go to the parks. Also good for drying washing as others have said!

We've got one in the villa we stay in next year, but haven't the last couple of times.

We fully insulated the garage/games room quite a few years ago and added an air conditioner.

Believe me, it makes the world of difference having the games room cooled down.
