Prescription Oakley Sunglasses

Has anyone ever had prescription lenses put into a pair of sunglasses? DS has some Oakley's but really needs prescription lenses and I was wondering if anyone has ever got it done over there and if so, where?

Thanks

DH had it done here - but they had to be sent to Oakley, they won't allow anyone else to put the lenses in! Almost £400.
Then he lost them 2nd day at WDW in September!

Hi,

Never had it done in the US because Oakley do not manufacture to my prescription but had them done over hear last year.

Would have loved the golf specific prizm lenses but had to settle for a non Oakley lens, very pleased with them though brown tin with matching mirror coating.

Thanks, I'll bring his prescription and check when we're there. Probably somewhere like Sears Optical

Will also look into the possibility of getting non Oakley prescription sunglasses.

You might be worth buying the frames and taking them to an independent optician here. My one will put prescription tinted lenses into RayBans for £30

Thanks, we're in Ireland where prices aren't so competitive but I'll check

DH and I get all our glasses from Walmart in-store opticians. They put prescription lenses in Ray Ban frames for DH. Have never had any problems but if we did, we can apparently take them to Asda.
Have also had a pair from Lenscrafters on a same day service.

A lot of people on a mountain bike forum I use send Oakleys to a company called cilary blue in the U.K. They can do most Oakley and are a fraction of the cost of getting them done by Oakley, quality is supposed to be excellent too.

Was it much cheaper than at home?

Try the website, "re-glaze my glasses", they did my fendi sunglasses for me. Excellent site and very reasonably priced.
