Mobile Best Disney hotel to be in during the storm

Looks like we may have to batten down this week as were due to fly Monday. Currently in AKL and to stay will be $300 a night. I’m not sure about insurance yet and what if anything we are covered for. I can get other resorts much cheaper like all star movies and music at around $130 a night. My question is, which Disney resort would be best to move to from a practical position. For example if I picked one without knowing it could be a room block away from the main building which would limit access to the restaurant for example.

Akl is going to be the cheapest option with internal corridors. The values and moderates are alll external blocks where you have to walk outside to get to the main building.

You could look at the Swan / dolphin or disneysprings hotels. Not all disneysprings hotels are internal corridors however.

Hi Jamie, worth checking your insurance. My policy states that I am covered for accommodation to the same standard that I am currently in. Can’t advise on Disney hotels I’m afraid.

I think I would stay put, so you have access to the hotel facilities. If you move to a value you are going to be stuck in the room until it passes.

Stay put. Internal corridor hotels are better in hurricanes as they may put a curfew on which also means the grounds. £300 a night isn’t that bad but you’d think Disney would do a cost deal. I’d go and ask to speak to a manager and ask why it’s not cheaper given a crisis.

I would have a look at the Tower at Coronado, it may be cheaper. Make sure you enquire about the tower and not one of their outer buildings.

Just back from an extended stay at WL due to BA cancelling our return flight home. No problem at the front desk - they said that Disney has a special rate for those with aircraft problems but they were able to add a couple of nights to our booking on the same rate at which we originally booked.

As people have said, a hotel with internal corridors is better. Also if the hurricane does hit, you should not be paying full price for the room, they have hurricane rates that apply.

State of florida don't allow profiteering during any types of disruption they even have phone contact number to report any business that put up prices from petrol to hotel rates.
