Fred Olsen buying 2 Holland America Ships. :D

Really happy to see this morning that FO have bought 2 more ships for their fleet (Amsterdam and Rotterdam).

I was a little worried for FO, as I thought their demographic has been hit the hardest, as they're seen as "not for the younger generation" (not that I believe that, I'm still in my 40s and love them).

I've cruised with TUI, P&O and FO, of them all FO is my fav... small ships = easier for me to get around and meet people.

Can't wait to see where they decide to go with these "new ships". Fingers crossed for some great solo prices next year.

I was pleased to read this as well. These former Holland America ships are beautiful- we did a 14 day cruise to Alaska on the Amsterdam back in 2014. We’ve sailed on six different cruise lines, but never Fred, this might tempt us.

I just had a nosy at photos of them both on Tripadvisor.

They both look lovely and will fit into the FO line easily.

With the "sliding dome covers" I might even consider a cold weather cruise on one of these (I really feel the cold, but can imagine it's nice on deck under the cover).

It is fantastic news for Freds, and lovely to hear that you like sailing with them! Sadly not enough to save the many of us currently being made redundant

Hoping things pick up and I can go back to my lovely fred family 🥰🛳 I cant wait to see the new ships!

So sorry to hear that you are one of those being made redundant Louise, I know from all your Fred posts how much you love working with them.

Hugs and fingers crossed they can rehire you quickly.
