Flu jab

Hi All

DH & I have never had the flu jab, we are 55 & 57 and don't have any underlying health conditions (that we know of) but we are wondering whether to have the flu jab this year, we can both get through work but I only know people who have been really ill after having it

What are other people who don't normally have it doing this year?

We are going to have a flu jab this year we are 48, 44 and 16. Apparently they won’t do it for our youngest who is 12. We are having the jabs through Boots. I’ve heard some people having side effects others not. I’m crossing my fingers all goes ok.

I do get the flu jab each year because I have asthma. I have had it almost every year for over 10 years, I was only ill once after it - had rotten cold symptoms, now this could have been a complete coincidence. Otherwise I have only had a slightly sore arm if touched for a day or two.
Once year I missed the medical center flu jab date and couldnt be bothered to book an appointment, I ended up with flu over Easter, felt really rough.
I would advise anyone to get the jab and this year more than ever

DH and I are 80 and 75 respectively and have been having flu jabs since we became eligible. Neither of us have had any problems yet. 🤞

I am 49 and never had the flu jab before, but as work are offering it out to everyone, I think that I may as well this year. DH is 46 and thinks he won’t bother. We both wfh and don’t mix much so our risk is pretty low anyway.

I’ve booked a flu jab at boots for me. I’m 47 and had a flu jab once before many years ago.

Other than a pain in my arm and a bit of a cold I was ok after it.

I’m going to try and book one for my 16 year old too this year.

I’ve not had the flu jab before but am booked in at Boots in a few weeks time. I have a weakened immune system so I’ve decided the risk of feeling a bit sore or under the weather for a few days is much better than getting full blown flu.

I’m also being trained up to give flu vaccines for the first time too, it’s not usually something our organisation would be supporting with but we’re being trained up just in case the NHS needs some more hands on deck.

Although my hubby regularly gets a flu jab, I at 74 never bothered. Seriously thinking of booking one this year though.
Heard different friends relay thoughts on it, mostly positive with a couple unwell afterwards.
I do suffer cough/ bronchitis some winters , but this is one year I don’t want that combined with the worry of Covid.
