Real Christmas trees are expensive

Yesterday we went to a garden centre and real Christmas trees 6' to 6'6" were £80 each. Admittedly they looked nice but I didn't realise real trees were so expensive.

we are lucky, we live near to a local tree farmer. the trees are not all perfect so you have to get there early to snag a good one but you cut it down yourself for £20!

Ours is from Asda and it’s not real, it’s pre lit because I can’t be messing about with lights. Apperently my son said I said I was getting a new one this year, I can’t remember saying that so I’m using it! Never had a real tree

To a yacht owning millionaire like you MH the £80 is nothing.

By the way do you know Mr P Green from Topshop fame as he has a nice yacht too, maybe wait and buy his when he cant afford to run it anymore

My local greengrocers sells any size tree for £20. I bought 2 from him this year, both 6ft plus. Good looking trees too and not had any needle drop.

They are, it was part of our decision to buy an artificial one this year. The real tree for us,
was more about the tradition of us all going to choose it together, something we looked forward to every year, now DD has flown the nest and DS only does it to humour me, we've invested in a nice, artificial pre lit tree instead.

Less hassle, easier to put up and I can still create the smell.

Although the memory of DS aged 16 carrying last years' 7' real tree up the road from our local shop on his shoulder will stay with me forever

Believe me most boat owners on the Thames will think I'm poor when they see my little boat (and they would be right to think that).

Its not the size of the boat, its the motion in the ocean that counts.

I will be on it alone most of the time and what I do won't cause much motion.
