Who remembers Alien Encounter?!

Omg I remember this we went on it in 1999 my 1st Disney vist about half way though I closed my eyes till the ride was over while gripping my Dh hand scared the life out of me lol

Yes! I loved this ride when I was a kid... so scary! Why did they get rid of it? Too frightening for some kids?

Do you think it would still be scary now? Would it have stood the test of time?
Essentially Stich is the same concept but tamer!
We hate The Stitch ride. We can't understand why it has such a pull - did it once and WILL never do it again.

We loved that ride and were disgusted when Disney closed it - you are right though in saying it was in the wrong park, DHS would have been a much more suitable setting for it. The Stitch ride is terrible and nothing at all like Alien Encounter in my opinion. We did Stitch once as DS is a huge Stitch fan but all three of us thought it was the greatest waste of time.

We loved Skyway - remember queuing up the steps near Fantasy Land. Tiny cradles, now I think about it, especially with 6ft 4in DH. Have some pics from 1988 somewhere. On visits into the early 90's it was closed more and more cos of the weather - methinks H&S kicking in!

I remember screaming and screaming on it.

But now I would not. I'd have read 100 reviews, seen it on youtube etc and there would be real fear. It would still be fun but not the same.

I remember. I nearly rendered my husbands best friend incapable of having kids by accidentally grabbing him hard somewhere totally inappropriate in fright 😂

He's had 4 kids since so luckily no real harm done (don't think he has ever truly forgiven me though)
