Our DGS wants to join a gym. He is 15. Is there a restriction on age?

Our local council does a junior gym up to 16. My daughter has now joined the adult gym but she needed to be 16. I am sure most regular gyms will be 16, maybe look on your local council website.

Free weights usually the issue - most councils offer good value for ‘juniors’.
Be careful though, a lot of independent gyms don’t monitor the usage and heavy weights too young obviously isn’t great for development. Any decent gym will do an introduction and offer guidance whilst training.

To use independently ours is 16, however they offer a dedicated ‘Energetics’ hour for secondary school age kids (DD is going tomorrow with a friend). They have an instructor in the gym at all times during this session to help them (if they need it) and to keep an eye on them! DD & friend had started going before 1st lockdown, and i’ve just phoned this afternoon to book a place (due to Covid all gym users have to book in advance. DS also goes but just books his next session on his way out of gym at the desk). When DD initially started with Energetics, I had to go in and sign a form about her health and to say she had our permission to use the gym equipment. She also had an induction at that time.
