I'm all for Golden Corral. You can pick up discount vouchers everywhere which knocks a couple of dollars off everyone's meal, so you're eating quite cheaply. I don't know the current rate - it was $10.95 last time we were there. We'll find out in a month, though, as we intend eating there at least once!
You could eat there every single night and eat something different every single time. I've not had everything yet. Oh, and it's another one of those places that serves a good selection of vegetables (sprouts, etc). Their 'Awesome Pot Pie' is to die for!

Cici's
Sizzler Ponderosa Golden Coral Denny's All cheap & cheerful good for families. We went to a Chinese buffet along the 192. DS10 didn't eat much so they only charged half price for him.

After a busy day out you cant beat baked potatoes with Chilli and burgers from Wendy's - take them back to the villa, crack open a cool beer/wine from the fridge and pig out watching TV! Cheap and typicaly American!

There are lots of great eating options both inside Disney and off site too. I love both sets of experiences and would certainly never miss some of the Disney restaurants - some excellent ones but yes, they are in general more expensive. For character meals our absolute favourite is the 1900 breakfast . Crystal Palace is good for both breakfast and dinner.
I agree with others that Sweet Tomatoes is excellent - nutritious food at a great price. Miller's Ale house was also a revelation to us last time. There are a number in Orlando but we went twice to the one on I Drive and paid no more than $30 for the three of us. The restaurants get very good ratings on Trip Advisor. Here is a sample menu from one of the restaurants in Orlando. Hope that helps allmenus/fl/orlando/3...le-house/menu/. Margaret

Well, it's not really pie - it's a beef stew, where the meat just falls off the chunks into 'strips'. It is totally divine!

Oh yes, Publix's 'southern fried chicken'! Wow! 8 pieces for only $6.99 in 2006 (probably more than that now), but it was just the right amount for 3 of us, and we helped it down with one of those jumbo bags of 'Niknak' type cheesy snacks and diet Coke. Dinner for three for under $10! Can't be bad.

Oh, and that immediately reminds me of the gorgeous fried chicken meal we bought at the waterside kiosk at Universal, just across from the Jaws ride. The only problem was that you can only eat outdoors, and we had to weigh all the serviettes down to stop them blowing away, and every time I opened my mouth to take a bit of chicken, I got a mouthful of hair! I think my lunch was stone cold by the time I'd got halfway through. I'd still eat there again in a heartbeat, though! Some of the best food at Universal Studios (and excellent value).
