Quote from virgin for Aug 2020

As I was at the Mall I popped into Virgin Holidays for a quote for Aug 2020. Yes I expect the prices to be higher due to this being a peek season, however I nearly fell of my chair when she come back with £16000 for 2 weeks in AKL for 2A 2C

Disney haven't released their prices for 2020 yet and unfortunately travel agents seem to charge what they want.

lol! If it helps we are doing 2 weeks at AKL late July/August next year with 3 week tickets and free DDP for 4 Disney adults for $6500. Obviously flights to add to that, but even with 4 direct virgin flights at £4000 means they are about 50% over priced!

Like you, we are 2 adults and 2 children. 16k. That would cover my last 3 USA vacations including theme park tickets and spending money, all taken during Easter or summer school holidays. All long haul sectors were with Virgin (albeit on Delta codeshare). All were between 14 and 17 days duration.
I would also have £200 or so left to put towards my next one.

As you can imagine we were extremely shocked and respectfully declined. You sound like you got a good deal there, I’m going to wait for the free DDP to be released then go direct with Disney and add flights

Ha! We had a very similar experience!

TC are offering 2020 too, at almost a 241 rate compared with VH on Prem seats.

We'll wait for the free DDP too!

We did 16 nights in August 2017 at the yacht club. Two adults two kids. VH quoted us nearly 12k. We went the DIY route and paid considerably less.
