Alligators/Dolphins same excursion
We are in Orlando for about 10 days and Miami for 2 days. We did plan on going to Clearwater for the day to do a dolphin trip, but I think we are going to be pushed for time. We were going to do an airboat ride to see alligators in the Everglades.
I was wondering if there was any excursion that you could see both dolphins and alligators? Anyway in Miami or near to Miami that we could do this? If Clear Water is a place not to be missed, then we could squeeze it in, just wanted some opinions. |

It sounds unlikely to me. Dolphins are in the ocean like Clearwater Beach and alligators are in freshwater lakes and swamps.

You'd be best doing a dolphin trip Miami and finding a place where you can view gators in the wild. We've done 2 airboat rides over the years and both good fun but we only saw one gator our first ride then last year at Speedys at Everglade City we saw one from a distance (well we were told it was one but DH was sceptical). The guy at Speedys told us to drive 5 miles further east (toward Miami on the Tamiami Trail) and on the left was a dirt track/road HP Williams Wayside (have a look on google earth). There's a waterway that runs the length of the track with a campsite at the end apparently, it runs for approx 15/16 miles and there's alligators galore. At the start of the road there's a car park where you can get out and stretch your legs and observe more gators/turtles. Then drive along the track for as far as you want. Much better than an airboat. This road (Tamiami Trail) goes all the way to the East coast and there's bound to be other spots like this towards Miami. And it's free
