Trouble is ours is a fly drive with the balance due on 14th April. I don’t really want to pay anymore, but if I don’t pay I will forfeit the deposit and I think currently BA aren’t cancelling flights until 72 hrs before.
Arrgh its all the uncertainty.
we are due 17th May and in same boat, just want the flight confirmed either way and a refund rather than voucher!

I’m due to fly on 30/4 to Orlando from Gatwick. I am not anticipating this going ahead. I received an email about my return flight on the 14/5 stating I can get a voucher if I wanted to postpone. I’m holding out for the refund as it is unlikely that I will travel later this year. I also have a family member on the highly vulnerable list who is not allowed out of the house for 12 weeks

Thanks for any help

Point (9) says: Voucher can be used as part payment towards a future booking. It must be redeemed for travel on flights taken within 12 months from the departure date of the first flight in your original booking

Which according to others who have checked means: Future travel must be completed within the 12 months (outbound and return within 12 months of original travel date) rather than just the outbound being within 12 months but the return date being after.

Thanks Welshwiz!

Unfortunately that’s pretty useless to us for a variety of reasons! A shame, if they do end up cancelling I’d be happy to let them keep the money in exchange for a voucher if they could be a bit more flexible! I’d need 13 months...

We've had our holiday with BA in May cancelled, so I imagine it's a different system for flights.

A voucher is no good for us, as every other date we've tried for the same holiday is almost twice the price and that's not even remotely doable. We can afford it, but if we wanted to pay those prices we would have booked a week in Florida, not AI in Corfu.

Can I ask when in May you were going and when they cancelled your holiday? We're due to go on 23rd May on a flydrive and a voucher is useless to us also. I feel I'm going to have to pay in full, mid April, then wait on BA to cancel. I've already managed to cancel our theme park tickets and Dibb villa, with no issues

I was due to fly in April with BA, i took the voucher as was determined I was going back later in year, I managed to get same hotel and flights as my original booking for £400 cheaper for 23rd nov to 8th dec so the money that’s left over will pay towards my 2021 trip I’m planning for March /April next yr

I cancelled last mon got an email from ba(u don’t actually get a physical voucher) last weds saying that they had cancelled my original holiday and have in form of a voucher the value of the original holiday , I could go on there website book a new holiday either pay deposit or whole lot and then email them back with new booking reference and they would refund my payment card the amount and any increase in price I need to pay or any decrease meaning there’s moment left over I could then use to pay towards another holiday, again in form of a “voucher”
I sent the email to BA with my new booking reference on fri night and today I have had reply saying that they gave processed the voucher and my card will he refunded and it will take 7 days to update on BA.com
Was very happy with the prompt service at BA

I’ve had an email cancelling my outbound flight on the 30/4/20 but the inbound flight is still showing (for now). I'm unable to go at any other time this year so need a refund. I’m only able to get a rebooking or voucher online. Will BA automatically issue a refund?
