Airbus?

I think this might have been the last time we refuelled in Bangor. They were having trouble pumping enough fuel on to get us there direct. Snow ploughs were driving in front of the plane to allow us to take off and land.

Once, early 90s, we flew back to MAN (can’t remember which airline) & everybody’s luggage was missing! I drove home with kids, leaving my husband to sort it out. Bout 2 hrs later, I got a call to pick him up. Apparently all our luggage had been loaded on a later Monarch plane & vice versa. 😂

My 1st flight was 1989 with Orion Air chartered by Airtours via Bangor and into Fort Lauderdale, it kept breaking down and we were delayed 3 days on way home 😁😁😁

Next one was Air2000 on the way out I was upgraded to Gold Class! But my girlfriend at the time wasnt and not best pleased.

My Dad always took photos of the planes. Then I would make up albums and bin the plane photos as too boring.

Sorry to be a nerd, but that’s a DC10 (they do look very similar though. Easiest way to tell them apart is the rear engine - DC 10 is straight along the base of the tail, Tristar has intake in the same position but the ducting then curves down as the engine sits in the end of the fuselage)

We flew with Orion in 1989
Delayed for 36 hours on the way out and by 4 days on the return
Their planes were grounded whilst we were there and didn’t fly again and we flew back on a Britannia flight
Our first trip to Florida

Was it in July? We were put in the Fort Lauderdale Hilton whilst they could get us on a flight!

Loved the days when we could do winter flights out of Newcastle
