Many childhood memories of our succession of Vauxhall Vivas, Chevettes and Cavaliers. Days out on Sundays with the 2 Grannies (6 of us crammed in a Chevette). Moaning at my mum for smoking in the car and refusing to open the windows. The windows dripping with condensation.

I vividly remember being in the showroom the day my parents defected to Ford and got the bargain of the century on one of the last Ford Cortinas. I learned to drive in it, and i never touched a Vauxhall again. Parents, however, went straight back to an Astra.

I did have an Opel Kadett when I lived in Austria which looked the same as the first Astras. We used to call it the tractor!

No. Dad had a metalic blue estate. Family trips to beach I was in the boot with the dog. They did put a blanket down. For the dog.

My parents had one of these in luxurious yellow
It always broke down when it rained! Got rid quickly and ended up with a Ford Cortina after that.
Even as a kid the Viva was not fondly remembered!
