Underrated films.

Films that aren’t always on everyone’s must watch list and are often overlooked.

My first suggestion is. Gattaca. Amazing Sci Fi film staring Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and Jude Law. Often considered a film that should be viewed as a classic but for some reason isn’t. As luck would have it it’s recently appears on sky cinema.

I’m sure I’ll think of some more.

Over the weekend I watched a film called Jo Jo Rabbit. I’d never heard of it but boy did I enjoy it. It’s very quirky and un pc and has some great characters in it.

I recently watched a film on Netflix called 'The Peanut Butter Falcon' with Shia Le Beouf and Kate Hudson. Great film and I was surprised I had never heard of it.

The Prestige starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Currently on Netflix and is a fantastic film with an 'OMG what and how' ending, 100% recommend watching

Star Crash, it’s old, it’s basic, it was trying to be Star Wars, but it’s not half bad.

My favourite underrated film is CBGB. It never even made it to the Cinemas and is download only.

It tells the story of CBGB nightclub in NY, Blondie, Patty Smith, Ramones and all that.

It stars Alan Rickman R.I.P as Hilly Kristal (the owner), Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters as Iggy Pop.

A really strange film and awesome if you grew up in the era of NY Punk. This was the home of it and was a pilgrimage for me in 2019.. (now a clothes shop). It is seedy and at times, unpleasant.

Breaker Morant. An Australian film about the sacrifice of 2 soldiers for the mistakes of their superiors in the same vein as Paths of Glory.
