I care full time for my DBIL who is disabled with quadriplegia.
DH and I took over this role after his mum passed and it was too much for FIL .
My days are pretty full , we do have support staff a few hours a day , I usually get out with the dog for a walk .
DH still goes out to work as he owns a decorating business.
I love to escape to the Dibb and am so looking forward to the day that there are some new trip reports 🙏🏻
And to get on holiday again as it is our only real down time , I usually spend as much time organising how DBIL will be cared for while we’re away as I do for our trip

Bless you, it must be difficult but hats off to you for the support and care you give your BIL.

Thanks but as I’m sure others in our position would tell anyone, we do this because we love him and at the end of the day he is family.
When I married DH 29 years ago , I knew this time would come in our life , a little earlier than we thought but it was always going to happen so I think that made it easier

Homeschooling roughly 10- 3 .I like an extra hour in bed lately have not been sleeping well and been staying up too late .go for a walk with ds 3 on his scooter or bike .if the weathers bad we do a joe wicks workout instead.
I make teas inbetween lessons for me and my teens -both students studying in their rooms and I eat too many treats😳
I let the dogs in and out several times a day 🙄they also are eating too many treats .
After schoolwork I chill on iPad catching up with news and online shopping that I don’t need 😳 looking at holidays that probably won’t happen.then cook tea .
Weekends catching up with books for our business and cleaning up !
Evenings I pad ,tv ...Im happy but bored! really need a new hobby I used to love drawing but I just can’t at the moment.I have been looking for something new to do today that’s creative .clay fairy houses have caught my eye so may give that a go.

I wish I had time to be bored Working full time with a couple of late evenings. Try and get dd 18 moving when I get home as she gets bored, either for a walk, doing some zumba or taking her out in the car if not too dark (she's learning to drive). DD21 is able to keep herself busy; well if you call Netflix and napping busy

Saturday is shopping/housework etc and Sunday I do absolutly nothing (in lockdown), watch tv, do a jigsaw puzzle etc. Sometimes I don't even get dressed I love it for a recharge before the week starts again.

And of course I always have time for a bit of Dibbing Thank you all, you've kept me sane the last 10 months

Get up have breakfast faff about on iPad and phone. Do a 10 minute indoor jog.
Get dressed make the bed and do 1 boring job.
So Monday it will be sorting out the renewal of my house contents insurance.
Tuesday will be filing.
Wednesday will be shredding old paperwork etc etc
That will take me until lunchtime.
Watch Neighbours.
Watch Million Dollar Listing
If it’s nice go out for a walk. If it’s not it’s another 10minute indoor jog time.
Do a bit of holiday research (well you can but dream!)
Start preparing whatever I’m eating. Whilst it’s cooking do my final 10 min jog.
Eat
Combo of faffing about on the internet and TV or music on Alexa.

I have a full time job that takes every ounce of my energy, plus looking after my parents who are completely dependent on me, plus dealing with horriffic damp and squalor and useless letting agents. I would love time to be bored, I haven’t had a moment’s peace since January 2020!

I’ve been a SAHM for the last 21 years so I’m used to being home.
I never seem to have any time at all.
Obviously I do my housework etc and I keep an eye on my mum since dad died last year.
I don’t really know where the time goes but I’m never bored... I’ve books lined up on my library app, magazines to read and there’s plenty of walking to be done instead of my usual gym etc.
Do you know you’ve really got me thinking now!
I think I’ll keep a diary this week lol and get back to you...

Can you do any volunteering?

Our local food bank as are always looking for volunteers, whether it's giving our the vouchers/food or doing some admin.

The local authority probably has a list for of volunteers to call and check in the elderly.

If i didn't work full time I'd be climbing the walls.
