What did you love about taking your child to disney for the first time?

Me and my husband have been to WDW numerous times but we are now super excited as we had a baby boy last year and he will be 7months when we go to DLP and 12months when we go to WDW.
So our question is what do we have to look forward to when you get to take your child to your favourite place in the world?

Oh wow so so much!

We took our LB to DLP for the first time when he was 9 months old and I must admit I didn't expect him to get much out of it that young but he was totally mesmerised by all the sights and sounds! His little face taking in all the colours and movement on IASW will stay with me forever!

We then went to WDW with him at 23 months and it was a totally different kind of magical! His interactions with the characters were absolutely heart-melting!

Not only is it their little faces light up... it’s your memories seeing them so happy/mesmerised. 🥰

The first time? I loved the fact they couldn't talk. No moaning and asking for things all day.

Watching the fireworks (from a distance), now that he's 3 he is scared of them.
The reaction to the characters, we did the Crystal Palace on our first day and he loved meeting Winnie the Pooh.
Pulling himself up on the different ledges/barriers and starting to walk (and splash in puddles)
Ice cream! Need I say more!

When we took our boys at age 3 years and 18 months, the best thing was the character interactions. We had a particularly great set of interactions in AK with Mickey, Minnie, Thumper, Pooh and Tigger amongst others.

Much as I loved taking my 3 sons when they were young, seeing it through our Grandchildren's eyes was extra special. Nothing beats watching your baby watching his baby, watching Wishes. I definitely had something in my eyes.

we took dd when she was 6. I found that it felt like a completely different holiday with a child ... it made me slow down and enjoy the moment so much more. I teared up so many times seeing her little face light up when she saw characters etc. One tip is to make sure you record them watching things rather than the thing itself... I get so emotional re watching her yelling character's names at the top of her voice as the parade passed by

My DS was very weary of the characters couldnt take his eyes off them but to scared to go to them. Then in animal kingdom he saw Eeyore and ran to him and gave him the biggest hug, fortunately everyone in the queue accepted my apologies.

That was it he was hooked onto the characters for the rest of the trip.

Ours was the look on their faces at characters, shouting for their favourite character. My eldest was 18months old when she first went to DLP and my youngest was 9 months when she went. Taking pictures of everything so can have solid memories of the trip. It doesn't stop when they are young. Took my two (16,12) last year to wdw for the first time and the look on faces and even tears in my youngest daughter's eyes when she finally got to meet Tiana was priceless.
