Credit card balance zero, what happens when refund is received?

Hi, I’m just wondering what happens when my holiday refund is received on my credit card when my credit card balance is currently zero. How do I get my money because I will be in credit on my credit card if you know what I mean. Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Ring them and ask for a credit balance refund. Have done with mine. Should only take 48 hours.

You can request the balance is paid into your bank. I had this recently and managed to request it on the credit card app. Money was in my bank within a week .

Ask for a refund back to your current account. I never knew this could be done until recently, always assumed you would have to spend again on the credit card!

Do you mean ask for a refund back to your current account from the credit card company? Also, how does the balance show on your credit card bill, are you in “credit”?

Yes, you will be in credit. I called mine(American Express) and they sent me a cheque.

Yes, your account will show credit. You call the credit card company and ask for a credit balance refund. They will ask for your bank details and will transfer the money to your bank account.

I ended up with a credit on my Halifax clarity card because of all the refunds. There was an option when logged in on line to enter your current account details and say how much you wanted transferred. Came through in 48 hours, didn’t need to speak to anyone. Was so glad it was that easy
