I’ve been wondering how other people manage as i’ve not been able to get in top of things. Between work, working for myself, husband working long hours and having a little one, it’s hard enough to get family time and chores just seem bottom of the list

We can't put another one in without taking out half the kitchen. Daughter put her Barbie swim pool on the worktop when she was 6 , it fell off, full of water into the dishwasher...

So you are raising daughters to expect to do the lion's share of housework, by example ? Even if they don't do it now they see a man who believes housework is women's work and a woman who goes along with it. Is that really any better than the women with sons.
Aren't you both perpetuating the same double standard ? As for men who are clueless with housework, it's a myth. They've just married women who cracked and did it themselves in desperation No man is incapable of housework anymore than no woman is incapable of changing a wheel or driving a lorry My husband never lifted a finger at home but once he lived alone he learned because he had to. Our working patterns tend to mean he does more Han me. A friend of mine was so fed up with her kids and husband doing nothing she doled out washing up and washing rotas, when the plates ran out she served on paper plates, when they moaned they had no clean clothes she just smiled at them. It took about two weeks for them to realise she meant business but it worked ! (She did used to pop around for the odd fortifying glass of wine and pep talk when she felt her resolve crumbling in those 2 weeks mind you ! Lol ) |

Yep, constantly feel rushed off my feet and it gives me quite a lot of anxiety!
Used to be worse, full time high pressured career, foster for local RSPCA, run a small business from home, restoring an Airstream, trying to support my Dad going through a divorce, make time for the rest of my family & elderly nan who live 45 mins away. Had a bit of a meltdown late last year and closed my business down and stopped the RSPCA work sadly. Feel much better now, not waking up in a panic multiple times a night/ not sleeping at all, no more constant heart palpitations or panic attacks . Oh, and we pay someone to clean our house. The place would be an absolute state otherwise as OH and I tend to get home late, cook, sort the fluffs out and collapse into bed!

I can't really afford a cleaner ATM. I often get the heart palpitations and feel on edge all the time.
