What are your (real) thoughts on personal plates
Be honest!
I really don't know how I feel about them, I used to think they were a complete waste of money (unless you get into the amazing ones that are silly figures!) then I got my last car which was a Beetle & bought a plate for it that spelt out Beetle, when I part ex'd the car, I tried to sell it, had no interest so just left it on the car as I wasn't buying another one. That kind of reiterated my waste of money feelings, although I did kind of find it fun having it. DH drives a Mustang and I have an SLC, we've refrained from buying plates for them as I think they're pretentious enough without them but I do find myself really torn and think it may be nice to get something a bit more personal on them. What do you think of them?

They hold no interest for me, but if someone wants one why not. Their money, their choice.

We think they’re tacky and always take the Mickey out of them haha. But my dad has one, but his isn’t obviously spelling a name or anything like that so I don’t mind those.
But the ones that spell out badly written names... nope you’ll be the but of the jokes in my car :P

I am torn too, I always thought I'd like one but I had a car with a memorable plate and I got fed up with people remarking on my whereabouts.

Not a fan. Don't see the point of spending money on something you get given with the car.
Also would not want my name or initials in any way on my car. Just not for me |

We have them, both mine and my husbands are our names, for example mine is MR5 and then my surname in full (lucky I only have a little surname) and my husbands actually is his first name and surname in full. So none of those naff alternatives here 😊😂🤣
We are lucky they didn’t cost all that much and ultimately it’s our money if we want to spend it on ‘tacky?’ Plates then we will. Some just look a little rubbish but I am a great believer in doing what makes you happy. Seeing mine and Hubby’s cars on the drive with our somewhat matching plates makes me smile 😊

I think they’re mostly tacky tbh, but each to their own.
There’s a family around here that each have a car with their surname on. Not sure why anyone would want to do that 🤔

Both my wife and I have our birthdays. Plates are OOdd/mmm. We were both born on the same day of the month so only the three letters for the month are different
