Universal Hotel's Refill Cup

Hi all,

Has anyone used one of the hotel refill cups in a Universal hotel? Can these only be refilled in the hotel and can you still pay the $1.49 in the parks to refill them?

Staying for 2 weeks in Aventura and undecided as to whether we should get these. I'm a little worried about having to carry them around all day in the parks too.

Any advice from anyone who's had these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

When we stayed at Cabana Bay we had ones that were brought for the hotel only - this was a one off cost and activated for the duration of our stay. No need to pay to top them up each day.

We then brought one refill cup in the park and then paid to activate this each day we visited a park - it worked well.

But we couldn't use the park ones in the hotel and vice versa. That was in 2017 so not sure if it has changed. We didn't visit Universal in 2018.

The hotel ones are different to the parks. If you are at aventura 2 weeks and drink fizzy drinks and coffee it will definitely be worth it.

Thanks everyone. We do both drink fizzy drinks but just thinking we usually are only in the hotel first thing in the morning and then again at night. We also only drink water in the mornings so don't think it would be great value for us if we can't use them in the parks. Thanks though!

Buy the park ones, they were great value for us. You can also fill them up with iced water in your resort. Just take a wee Robinson’s squirty to flavour your water in the hotel.

You get them in the foodcourt. There are different prices for how long you are staying. Think the longest length of stay one is $17.99.
