Tempers certainly ran high on that platform, but violence isn't the answer, but I don't know what is either

Not necessarily true.

Green electricity is just that - and if it’s not generated by wind etc but (in the case of London) by incinerating rubbish then that has to be good surely ? Oh and the chimneys at the incinerator plants have complicated filters in so the air they emitt is often cleaner than the prevailing air around it ( and the active part of the filters like line is then used in building materials !)

I haven’t seen many vehicles with filters fitted and diesel ones are just the very worst for us asthmatics

Never mind. I see Swampy is back! Who remembers him from the Newbury bypass.

He was in a band of Eco Warriors who blockaded a refinery in W. Wales. They were so stupid they didn't realise the refinery could open 2 farm gates and drive the lorries around them so they gave up after a day but all got arrested.

I'm not seeing any reports of any serious injuries, more snowflakes getting removed robustly ! Didums.
I suspect they assumed no one would dare touch them and the grown ups saying no and firmly removing them rather than the kid gloves approach taken by the Police came as an abrupt shock to these rather naive people.

Great to see them being dragged off this morning, gave me a chuckle at the start of the day.

As a software engineer, I'm very much a fan of abstraction, rather than relying on concrete implentations of things.

In translation - a normal car relies on a specific source of power: the fossil-fuel burning engine under the bonnet.

By abstracting this away and make it depend only on electricity, you are then free to change the way the electricity is generated without it affecting the operation of the car. Thus, you can stop cars burning fuel now (with the added bonus that this stops pollution in the streets), and move the problem back to generation, which you can then tackle separately, and gradually if needed, to ensure green electricity is used.

They will be crying loudly about this, I'm not saying it's right being violent but I didn't feel particularly sorry for him on top of train dragged off... Images I saw he stuck the boot in too

The reporter of the film had the nerve to say the police took 25 minutes to arrive to protect them! Ironic that they might have been held up elsewhere!
My son works at Canary Wharf, I hope his journey wasn’t delayed this morning.
