Mask requirements on the plane for kids

So we are booked to go in February, rearranged from august 2019. I know I should be so excited about the news that we can now actually fly, but to be honest it's just made me anxious.
Looking at all the rules, I just dont see how I am going to be able to get my 2 year old to wear a mask for probably 11 hours, with immigration as well. Most days it's a battle to get trousers on him.
Anyone else worried about this and have a plan to actually make it work. Or shall I just cancel before we hand over anymore money.

I'm nervous too. My little girl has just turned 3. I have managed to get her to wear a mask on occasion as practice but the longest has been about 10 mins so not sure how we will manage 10 hours! Lots of drink and snack breaks i think!

We’re not going until August but I’m quite concerned if this remains in place when we go. I have a very… spirited… 2 year old DS. I’m lucky if I can get him to wear socks and shoes for more than 5 minutes in the car. A mask for 8 plus hours will be impossible 😂

2 just seems way too young. We are thinking about moving to later in the year but not sure if I'd just end up delaying the inevitable really. A flight with him will be hard just generally to be honest.

Isn’t it two to wear masks in the parks etc too?
I agree it seems excessive and I really feel for those with little ones .

Currently passengers aged over 2 flying on any airline into the US are required to wear a mask. I'm hoping this may change though now all adults will be required to be double jabbed.

Can you imagine the absolute bedlam onboard an aircraft packed with British Families and air crew trying to get all the kids to keep their masks on. Mix in with the guy on row 16 who doesn't have kids and has little understanding kicking off because the kid on row 15 took their mask off again . Its going to be the new kicking back of the seat thing / crying baby disturbing everyone moan

It's going to be a total disaster lol.

I have heart palpitations thinking about getting my 7 year old to do it let alone a two year old.

I just don't see how in reality you keep such strict requirements going. Most families haven't been flying with these sort of requirements in place. Not for kids as young as 2 anyway. I don't think they have been tested on mass yet and when the average joe starts flying again its going to be a mess if they are retained.

What they going to do ? arrest 60+ families when they land or make an emergency landing every five mins when another toddler kicks off ?

I hesitate to advocate deliberately bending the rules, but after 18 months of obeying frequently ludicrous rules, now that most of us have had the jab, we all get a holiday pass as far as i am concerned. Stock up on snacks and make sure every time anyone passes you by you have food or drink in your mouth.

You are going on holiday, it wont be that hard.
