Monarch

We flew Monarch from manchester on 2nd October as we got really cheap flights for our school holidays £300 pp. Cheapest we have had for a long time. As we live in Scotland we are kind of limited and the prices are way higher so sometimes we travel down to Manchester. However I wasn't looking forward to the flight as there have been so many negative things about Monarch. Have to say we were pleasantly surprised. We left on time ,well we left a tiny bit late but we made up the time. Kids got a pack of Hannah bear things to do. Meals were good we were rally surprised. Yes legroom wasn't that great but we coped. Not ones for wasting money on extras like premium. downside was we had to pay for drinks but we bought some water from airport so again we coped it was no big issue.
Coming back plane was again on time although it took a little while to board everyone so we got on a bit late but again we made time.
Meal was again very good. Overall a very postive experience. Staff were friendly ,plane was clean but most importantly we had no delays going or coming back. Would recommend tham and would def use again if price was right.
Compared to Flyglobespan who is prob about one of 3 charter airlines who fly from Glasgow we were well impressed.

We flew with Monarch last year we upgraded to PE, my son is 6ft 3" so the extra leg room was good for him. We couldn't fault them either and would fly with them again.

Nice to hear your reassurances about Monarch-I fly with them July 2010 to sanford from manchester (another canny Scot who is not prepared to pay through the nose to fly from Glasgow!)... was starting to get a bit worried about all the bad reports. Can't really beat their prices for next year... even it it does mean being a bit cramped travelling- would rather save some money to spend once out there.

Always found them to be great, they have great staff. like you scots we normally have to go round the world to get a decent price but love getting direct from Belfast. Globspan just pricing themselves out of the market at this stage!

Monarch

We booked through Thomas cook via 'Flexitrips' for July 2010, but they changed our plane from TC to Monarch. - Like many of the above posters, I have read quite a few bad reports, but thankfully, you guys have made me feel slightly better.
Any idea what plane they use out of Gatwick MON329
Thx
