Flying into Charlotte Airport

Hi,
I don't know if this is the right forum for this question.
We are thinking of flying into Charlotte in order to drive to Charleston and Savannah and then on to Orlando.
We've been via Atlanta before but thought that this might be an easier option.

The reviews about the airport are not very good so does anyone have experience of this airport please?

When are you flying?

I�m supposed to be flying from New York to MCO in July so could feedback for you.

I know a few dibbers had poor experiences due to cancelled flights from there but I think that was weather related.

We transferred through here a few years ago and it was brilliant. Small, easy to navigate and the staff at immigration were really friendly.

Would absolutely choose it as my transfer airport

Can�t think why the reviews would be bad

I�ve flown in and out of there many times , it�s a nice compact airport , All the gates are off a central concourse .
Car hire is just over the road from the airport terminal.

We were there a couple of weeks ago, it was fine.
I mean it�s not brand new or shiny but there was nothing wrong with it. We�ve used it a couple of times.

I had a 4 hour layover there in November and it�s fine, it�s older a bit dark and tired but has all the usual amenities you�d expect to find at an airport

So to answer your questions.
We are planning to fly next March, just thinking ahead really.
You can fly direct from London.
The reviews were from a web search and were a cross section of reviewers.
The complaints were about the volume of traffic now exceeding the capacity and the resultant issues. Also mentioned were the building itself being out of date with poor facilities and rude employees.

Yes from Heathrow with BA / AA

I�m actually in Charlotte now , but it was a lot cheaper for us to flight in and out of Raleigh , it�s only. 3 hr drive to Charlotte

But I have many times flown direct to Charlotte
