Would you bother with the coast in December?

DH is keen to have a night in the coast in December, I'm really not sure if it's worth it, especially for one night.

Anyone done the East Coast this time of year? Would you recommend?

Water is much more swim-able on the west coast in December. We've been to Sarasota that time of year and were lucky enough for air temp around 29 and gulf water was lovely. East coast (ocean water) will be cooler.

Remember that time of year the air can be cooler, as weather changes weekly (sometimes daily). Some days in December we wore jumpers.

The Gulf water cools quicker in Winter than the Atlantic coast. In December the water at St Pete Beach may be colder than that at Daytona Beach.

The highest sea temperatures in December are off Miami Beach.
