WDW after hours events
Hi, I have never booked any after hours events but am considering it on our next trip but would like to know how regularly they run them, how far in advance you can purchase them and also I assume you don't need a normal park ticket as well? Thanks

Also if 1 of us has an annual pass can I get discount tickets for the whole party or would everyone need the AP for a discount?

AP holder can buy for others. I emailed Disney last week about After Hours, as they only go up to June at HS. They said at the moment they no information about future dates, or even if they will continue, and to keep an eye on the website for updates.😃

We did the magic kingdom one a couple of weeks ago.
AP can buy them all so no problem and you can get them online when they're available but they tend to release them in bursts for the next 3-6 months. So you need to keep an eye out there. You don't need a regular park ticket unless you want to get in normal time... basically around whatever time they tell you you go in with your after hours ticket and you get a paper wrist band which you show when you want to go on a ride. Our experience with magic kingdom was mixed. The GREAT thing about it was that MK was virtually empty after the fireworks. I mean we were walking around not seeing anyone at all for a few minutes and everything that was open was a walk on with no wait. There were stands around with free ice cream, popcorn and drinks which was quite nice. The problem really was how few things were open. At 9pm, before the fireworks, some things closed. Then 10pm LOADS of things closed leaving only a hand full of rides and some of those went offline, notably space mountain which a lot of people had paid for after hours to ride without a queue. Sooooooo great experience in terms of an empty park, but honestly rubbish in terms of how few things were open and available. |

Thanks for that. May be worth getting an AP then as it will be a group of 12 so the savings on that and discount in shops etc will soon mount up!

when we did it last year all rides, including space mountain were open. I wonder why were they down, issues with the rides or just decision to have less rides open?
