Its not really my thing thats for sure. The shops are crap, selling crap. We always used to make a day time visit and buy an alpaca pillowcase for the in laws. We'd gone one trip with them and my father in law fell in love with some huge pillows and bought them. We would return and buy bits to add to their collection.
I wish id taken the father in law on an evening so he could have seen the old classic cars. He would have loved that. Sadly hes passed away now. I enjoyed looking at the muscle cars last November, kids enjoyed the rides next to it. But for me its a hour stop and thats it, im not a drinker despite it being my business here, i can see why its popular. If people enjoy it great! Personally id say try it on a evening when the cars are there.

We went last year for the first time in about 10 years and it filled in a couple of hours but wont be going back this year.
Was Ok to see the cars driving up and down the main road and although i never felt uncomfortable it is a bit rough around the edges and the shops arent worth spending much time in. I remeber the old coke shop, there was an English shop selling a Twix for about £2.00 and an English pub that did food at the bottom that had a mock up double decker bus in it. Was the first place i saw Newcastle Brown Ale on draft. |

Thank goodness someone else remembers the food place that had the bus, it also had a gaol cell. DS used to love eating there. So did we, they had great pasties and sausage rolls.
Everyone said I was dreaming it

As you can tell Old Town is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it 🤣🤣 to only way to find out if it’s for you is to check it out for yourself. At least you can check it off your list then.

Wow
Lots of opinions. Think we'll give it a go and see what happens. It sounds like an interesting experience anyway. |

It’s free to go there, parking a few dollars, well worth a look around, listen to some live music, see locals with some great cars and some weird ones too! You might actually enjoy it!
I tag along with my husband, but really had fun last year. The car owners are characters!

I went to Old Town on my first visit in 2001 and loved it, went again in 2003, pretty much the same, but haven't been since, especially put off by a lot of bad reviews on here over the years.
With the recent revamp though it looks great again, and we'll be visiting this year, a first for the kids. |

We always love a trip to Oldtown worth it just to check out the cars and trucks on show. We usually go in the afternoon to chat with the car owners all really friendly, grab a bite to eat wander round the shops then watch the cruise.
