Table service meals with fussy eaters
Hello, I’m looking for recommendations for onsite TS restaurants that you found worked for fussy eaters! Previously we stuck to buffet/ American type menus but in 2020 our three DD will be that much older and DH and I want to try more interesting menus that still have plainer options for our DD’s ( 21,15,11)
Any suggestions? |

Hi, most kids menu's have options for fussier eaters even at the more exotic restaurants, any restaurant will let you order off the kids menu as an adult portion which might help you out. And most places will have something like chicken tenders available even if not on the menu, I know ohana does, you just need to discuss with your server what they like and they'll find something suitable 😊 my 8 y/o daughter is getting better... Anything but vegetables 😂 we always do the dining plan and I've never let that put me off booking places where myself and my husband want to go and she's always found something she'll eat even at places like teppan Edo, Sanaa ect it's actually encouraged her to find new foods she likes 🙂

Restaurants also let you change meals around with no problem. For example my DD doesn’t eat rice so in Coral Reef restaurant she wanted the chicken meal which is meant to be served with rice but we asked if it could be served with the mash (which is served with the steak meal) and the server had no problem doing this and was very helpful. This happened in a few places.
Likewise drinks, my DD doesn’t like fizzy drinks so can find she is stuck with the same drink often. Disney restaurants with a cocktail menu will make a non-alcoholic version of the cocktails if you ask. This meant she had a few fancy drinks. She also enjoyed the flavoured still lemonades widely available. There really is a huge variety of food and drink to suit most people in the restaurants. |

What type of foods do your DD's like? I am a fussy eater and usually struggle as I dont like American mash potatoes or mac n cheese which for some reason seems to come with everything lol
I found the only place on site that would not swap the side to fries was Mama Melrose, even the signature restaurants made fries for me even though they were not on the menu at all. |

Everywhere we went was accommodating to our selective eaters!
Ohana and Tonys both offered off menu items and fries before we’d even asked.

Disney are really good at accommodating fussy eaters you can get things plain, sauce on the side, swap out the sides for something else on the menu.
Dd usually ends up with an adult portion of chicken tenders for pretty much every meal Yak and yeti was one I found had less options they do a plain chicken breast on the kids menu but said they couldn't do fries as they are not on the menu. She won't eat mash, noodles, rice ect so ended up with a fruit bag but I'm not going to miss out on eating at places I want to just because she is so fussy. |

I share the same opinion, of course you wouldn't see your kids go hungry (worst case if they don't eat anything on the menu take them for nuggets and chips after) but myself and husband choose where we eat as we like to go places we wouldn't be able to necessarly experience at home that serves great quality food, after all it's our thousands £££ of hard earned cash that's paying for the pleasure 😂

Just to say, I had fries at Yak and yeti last year - unless they have changed since then they did "shoe string fries" I think they were called. I had the duck and swapped the sides for fries... I got so many fries it was ridiculous!
I am pretty fussy and have found everywhere quite accommodating. CRT made me an adult portion of a child's meal, and other places have left off sauces or changed the sides for me quite happily. I think it is quite common in America to just order things exactly how you want them! |

That's all really reassuring and I love the point about the holiday being for the adults too...so true! Anyone taken 'adult' fussy eaters to Sanaa or Teppan Edo?

I guess it comes down to the server/chef working that day. I also have a picky eater in my 15 year old daughter, she literally eats around a dozen different foods total, the server/chef at Mama Melrose where great, they brought her an adult size portion of just plain pasta (spaghetti) sprinkled with cheese.
