Spending Money
Hi all
We are now going Walt Disney world April 2020 as we didn’t particularly fancy going when Star Wars land was opening (We was originally going in October) Not to mention that the flights are half the price in April as well(! ) Does anyone think budgeting for £100 (not sure what that will be in dollars at the time) a day spending money between two adults is enough when we have the dining plan included and $200 gift card (can someone also confirm is we can use that for tipping?)? Thank you x |

Yes you can use the gift card for tipping.
How much spending money is quite personal. It depends entirely on what you plan to buy. With dining plan your food is covered so the spending money is really for “stuff”. £100 should be plenty. |

How much spending money is a bit if a how long is a piece of string type of question. What you need will depend upon how much shopping you plan to do.

We went April last year (2 adults) and 3 days into the holiday with the dining plan and we'd not spent a penny.
I think in the end for 11 nights we ended up spending about £800 - £900 but that included a few Table Service meals, a few Ubers to Universal, a trip to the outlets and a ridiculous amount of merch shopping (we went a bit stupid really but I don't regret it ). Depends on what your shopping habits are really - it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be.

MY DD's university equestrian team did a preseason warm up in Florida and I would fly down and we spend a few days at Disney beofre she returned to school. I was a single partent with one (or two) kids at university.
I always budgeted $100. for EVERYTHING-meals, souvenirs, misc expenses like gas for the rental before return and we never went over. Yes, you can spend more than $100./day on stuff at Disney but you don't need to in ordere to have a wonderful trip. Pluse you have to get all that stuff home. |
