So my OH and I decided to go on a hot date to Tesco to get our tea. The world was normal (apart from the fact I hate wearing masks) and then she shocked me beyond belief by picking up a head of brocolli and snapping and discarding the base to cut down the weight.

Am I the only one who thinks this is extremely wrong ? So as per title would you disown your over half if they did this ?

Thankfully when we went to get the wine she didn't neck the bottle and put half of it back ,

Good skills. It’s a bit like vine ripened tomatoes.. you can save by breaking off the stalky bit. Over the years, I must have saved... 20p.

Did she discard the stalks in the store or at home?

Edit - I reread - more slowly (!) and I see it was in the store! Yes I can see her logic, but the stems are of course edible, I guess apart from the very thick end.

Best steer her away from tenderstem broccoli!
