Novice crafter needs your help

My DH has said to me for a long time I need a hobby, but we are always so busy I don’t have much time. Due to
Lockdown I decided to try making a Christmas wreath which is going fairly well.

It’s made me think about making a headband and some clips for myself and daughter. Where I buy plain headbands and decorate it. I like the thought of making them sparkly and using different colour gems and shapes on top of the headbands or clips.

Any advice please on where I should go to try to buy the gems? Are they called gems? I’m struggling to find any when I am searching on the internet.
