Parcel force disaster

Daughter couldn’t get home for Xmas cos of COVID. No signs of her getting home anytime soon. So I parcelled up her presents and sent them off parcelforce - to be signed for on delivery. Fast forward to today, her delivery window came, she was at home. She got a text to say parcel delivered for and signed for (this was as 1pm). Only it hasn’t been delivered to her and hasn’t been signed for by her. She has contacted parcel force who have said that the delivery man has delivered two parcels to someone instead of one and her parcel is the extra one. The person who has taken delivery is on the opposite side of the city she lives in. To add insult, the delivery man has signed for it (probably cos of COVID). Parcel force said they would have someone go get it but have failed to do so and have said she might get it tomorrow ! I’m so angry and cheesed off for her. She spent Christmas on her own and now this.

Hi, im an online seller and deal with a lot of couriers. Ive had it happen twice with DPD. Parcel force should arrange for it to be collected and re-delivered. Or if you log on to the tracking you should see a map, a photo and the GPS coordinates of where it was dropped off and you could possibly have her collect it herself. As frustarting as it is all the couriers have been mega busy these last few weeks and cant be perfect all the time. It is common practise for the driver to sign it themselves amonst all the major couriers at the moment, thats why they take a photo now (although some did before covid anyway). At least its not lost, just delayed by the looks of things.

Thanks. Know they been busy but it’s been a sad Christmas for her and this was the final straw. All they have given her is the first part of the post code. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

Mistakes happen, all delivery companies are struggling at the moment. Perhaps someone did try to collect it but the person may have been out.

Can understand how you feel. This happened to our neighbour just before Christmas with one of their dd’s main Christmas presents. He knocked on all our doors asking if we had taken it in, although he couldn’t understand why anyone would have signed with the name mentioned. They then were missing one gift for Christmas Day for a 5 year old as it didn’t arrive until after Santa had gone back to the North Pole.

So. Still no parcel. Parcel Force can’t even tell us if it’s been uplifted by them or a courier.

Still no parcel. Parcel force have done nothing to retrieve it. Have told daughter it’s in one street and told me it’s somewhere else. Manager was to call us on 31st, funnily enough that didn’t happen.
