Just looking him up on Wikipedia and it's very light on the murder. I was amazed!

I was shocked as well. Probably the American way where money talks and celebrities get counted for more e.g. O.J Simpson etc.
Plus he had 6 years of bail before he got imprisoned.

If you click on the link to the page on the murder itself, even that is very scant.

I'm well aware of his contribution to popular music. His influence, the production values and techniques he developed inspired a couple of generations of musicians but what a deeply flawed man he was. A shout out to the "the Wrecking Crew" who helped create his wall of sound, also ...

The way he treated people on the journey was appaling and that was before the murder. He once pulled a gun on Lennon after a row about the way Lennon's rock 'n' roll album going and who actually owned the tapes.

I give a nod to all the great music he created. Him, not so much

He shot a woman through the head who was visiting him at his house.

Very weird character, once saw a documentary on him. Think he had something of a God syndrome.

Would recommend seeing the 2013 film staring Al Pacino as Phil Spector - very thoughtful insight in to a very complex person. He went to prison and served his time for actions he did.
