NYC and Disney! July 2015- Day 2
INDEX
18th July For some reason I did not record when we got up? I can tell you it was pretty early, but nothing exact. As we left the hotel it was pretty rainy, so our first stop of the day was to Lindys, that was a couple buildings down, for breakfast to see if the rain was going to stop! It didn’t, so we went out and walked to top of the rock. We are glad we did, it was empty and we were able to get tickets for 9:20pm, perfect! We then walked round to Madame Tussauds (rain had stopped) to get our tickets for the bus included as an option on the new york explorer pass. This was a good use of an attraction as we got to see some things such as the flat iron building and macy’s, plus we didn’t have to walk as far! We got off at stop 11 and went to Brooklyn Bridge to place our lock. We walked about a 3rd of the way down and then back as it was quite hot and we didn’t fancy the whole thing! We then went through City Hall park so I could get some pictures for my art course and it took us to the 9/11 memorial and one world observatory. Wow, there was just something about the memorial that was breath taking! We didn’t do the museum due to time and we didn’t go inside the observatory but took some photos still. We then went to see the charging bull, the photo below is the only one our whole family managed to get without someone standing straight infront of it. There was even people taking pictures of it infront of its back end! Why? no one knows… continued |

We then went to wall street and saw New york Stock exchange and Federal reserve also. Honestly wall street did not live up to the expectations we had, we think it may be because it was a Sunday, but it was pretty deserted!
We headed to South Seaport and got the bus back to central park. Here we went to see the Alice in wonderland statue and strawberry fields. We then walked back to times square and ended up in Applebees eventually for dinner. We had: Me: Crosscut ribs (didn’t like these, bones were hard to find and got fed up!) Mum- Three cheese pasta Dad- Sirloin with spinach and grains Matt- 9oz Steak and chips (not really sure why its so blurry!) After dinner we went and done a little shopping on times square, for souvenirs for friends and family and headed to our room for about half hour for a little break. We then headed round to top of the rock. We got there a little early so sat outside radio city for a little bit. Randomly loads of people started screaming and running across the road. We watched for a while and it turned out a bus had come round the corner at radio city and hit a man, people who were on the bus (more like a coach) managed to push it up to drag the man out from underneath. He was okay and was still responsive, and it was time for our viewing, so we had to leave. Top of the rock was a good experience and it was nice to see the empire state building all illuminated. After top of the rock, we headed back to the hotel and went to bed around 11:30 |

It was definitely busy, we finished earlier that we thought so did central park today instead of the day after, to make it a little more relaxing!
Enjoy! so jealous! Was our first time too and I can definitely see us returning in the future Advice: leave plenty of time for JFK to Orlando, we did the recommended 90 mins and had to run to our gate due to unhelpful staff in security/bag drop and lots of people, if our plane wasn't delayed we probably wouldn't have made it! (we flew Jet blue) Edited at 04:27 PM. |

Lovely photos, they're making me want to go back!
People take pictures of the back end of the bull as there is a rumour that if you rub the bulls balls it is supposed to give you good luck with money😂v |
