Different hotel in mde
We booked with vh for a week stay In a studio at Saratoga springs for March 2020 with ddp. A few days after I booked I rung Disney to book keys to kingdom and while on phone I advised I didn’t have reference number from virgin yet so had to confirm hotel we were staying, surname and dates. She found our booking and advised she would link the tour to our booking. She asked if we were celebrating and I advised it was my husband’s birthday.
Once I got my ref I linked it to mde and the hotel is showing as akl in a deluxe studio with savannah view. I would love to stay in akl so I’m wondering what are the chances of it changing now it’s been linked for 3 weeks, has anyone experienced this. |

Since you booked with VH I'd check with them to see where they have you staying. You don't want to turn up at one hotel and find you're staying at another!

Didn’t this happen last year? Some people who booked early and virgin couldn’t get them what they had booked so they changed there resort without telling them and it just showed on the app! I could be wrong but I’m sure there is a post from last year around this time, I’m sure virgin over booked some of the moderates.

They've rung me this morning after 3 weeks, blaming Disney apparently Disney have just updated their systems and there's no availability for Saratoga springs.
They want me to pay an extra £1300 for animal kingdom £385 for Caribbean beach or a refund of £70 for Colorado springs. Both the moderate hotels would include the upgrade to the table service dinning plan. So got to decide what to do |

She said not the only other delux available is akl and their not willing to pay the difference

We had this last year. We booked CBR thru VH but after the construction work end date for CBR disappeared from all WDW websites I contacted WDW directly via email to ask about it - we were travelling with my mother who had mobility issues. Anyway, upshot was I was told it wouldn’t be a problem for her.
Fast forward two months and I check MDE and our hotel ha changed to BC - only on MDE not with VH. An email a couple of days later from WDW advises we were being moved as the construction work was taking longer than expected. VH were never any the wiser and had us as CBR the entire time. Come check in day we mosied on up to BC and had a really lovely stay there. Point is WDW can change your resort at their end (for any number of reasons I’d imagine), VH would never know. |

Go back to VH and say you have no intention of paying any extra as the problem is their fault and not yours. If you get a different rep you will possible get a different reply - give it a try what have you to loose.
AKL is fabulous and to get what Disney have you down for is well worth having if you press the matter - dont ask, dont want, dont get !

I'm assuming Disney must have notified them about it with them ringing today. I'm going to try emailing and pushing the issue see if I get anywhere.
It's ridiculous they obviously need to change how they book their allocation, I looked at it for about a week before I booked it, so it was on the website to book for ages. |
